Professional Background of Tennessee Neuropsychology's Dr. Jenée Justice Tate
Dr. Jenée Justice Tate received her master’s degree in clinical psychology from The Georgia School of Professional Psychology (Atlanta, Georgia), and her doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Washington, D.C.). During her training, she specialized in child development and the assessment of children and adolescents. She completed an APA-accredited internship at Centerstone of Florida, where she delivered evidence-based treatments for survivors of trauma and conducted psychological assessments for patients across the lifespan in a community mental health setting. Now in Knoxville, Dr. Tate is currently gaining specialized knowledge of neuropsychological assessment in her role as a provisionally-licensed clinical psychologist and child specialist under the supervision of Dr. Malcolm Spica.
Dr. Tate has been conducting psychological, neuropsychological, and psychoeducational assessments since 2017. She specializes in the assessment of childhood-onset psychological disorders including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Specific Learning Disorder (e.g., Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Dysgraphia), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and other behavioral disorders.
Dr. Tate is passionate about utilizing a strengths-based model of assessment that gives every family a greater understanding of their child’s strengths in addition to their needed areas of growth so that each family is equipped with the knowledge needed to help their child tackle their difficulties and reach their potential. Dr. Tate also welcomes and provides a safe space for families and individuals of all races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, sexual identities, and gender identities.
